Frightful is a blog for anyone interested in macabre literature, horror culture, and bite-sized history lessons with sharp teeth. It is written and run by Bram Stoker Award Nominee Emily Ruth Verona. She has been writing about books, movies, horror, dark fiction and mental health since 2014. Her work has appeared in places like Lamplight Magazine, The Ghastling, and The Jewish Book of Horror as well as online for Bloody Women, Tor, Bookbub, and BUST.com. Her novel, Midnight on Beacon Street, is expected from Harper Perennial in 2024. She is supervised by a small dog named Phoebe.
